Wedding Wednesday - Be Bohemian

Being bohemian means having no rules at all, and adopting a lifestyle of freedom and love... two very important traits for any wedding! If you really want to get into the boho groove, here's how we think you can achieve the theme for your ceremony.

Create an inviting and lively space for your big day by using lots of candles, comfy throws, eccentric fabrics, and simple unkempt flowers. No fuss, no extravagance, only an airy and playful set up is fit for this style of wedding.

Also, when we think of bohemian brides, we envision an easy going and effortless look with long flowing dresses, beautiful drapes, antique jewels, natural make up and unique headpieces.

Saturday Tips - Wedding Glam on a Budget

You don't need to break the bank for a glam wedding! Here are a few financially savvy tips to follow:

1. Create a comparison chart and track what’s included in the price for each venue you’re considering. One company may not include linens and the cake, for example, while another company does.

2. Depending on your venue, you may not need to decorate extensively. If you marry outdoors for example, there’s not much you’ll need to add to the already gorgeous backdrop.

3. Consider the season, as you are more likely to get a better price for a venue in some months than you would for the same spot at a different time.

4. Tap into the skills of your nearest and dearest. From you DJ friend, to your photographer brother, as everyone with a suitable skill to get involved and save yourself a fortune.

5. Consider cupcakes as an alternative to the traditional wedding cakes. These save money because they require less decoration.

Wedding Wednesdays - The Dessert Table

Bring on the mini cupcakes and macaroons, and say good bye to the traditional extravagant wedding cakes as desert buffet tables are taking weddings by storm these days!

When trying out this concept, always remember that most people eat with their eyes first! You want to present the desserts in the best way possible. You should be cautious as to not end up with an arrangement that's more fit for a kids party than a wedding. Your buffet should act as a decorative part of your event by fitting with your theme and color scheme.

As for as options go, you don't want to leave your guests overwhelmed. Your best shot is to stick to 4-5 variations of desserts. Have a look at photo's below for some inspiration:

Trendy Tuesdays - Bridal Hair Accessories

These days, more than a veil can be found on a bride's head!

For the ladies who are looking to add something of their own flair to their ensemble and want to give it that unique touch, here are some great headpieces we've been inspired by!

For an element of romance, opt for a floral headpiece. This option is timelessly beautiful, whether you plan on going for real or fake flowers. The only trick is to make sure your hair accessory fits with the theme of the ceremony.

Vintage headbands are making a come back! They are informal and can exude a traditional mood at the same time. These headbands come in a variety of sizes and patterns, so make sure to pick one that matches your dress.

Jewelry can also be used in the brides hair, for a bold and glamorous feel. From diamonds, to rubies and pearls, the selection is endless! Keep with your bridal theme for a well put together look.

Saturday Tips - Things to Avoid Before Your wedding

When preparing for your big day, you already have a long to-do list... but what about the don'ts? Here are a few beauty blunders and bad habits to be avoided at all costs!

1. New Hair Color. Avoid making changes to your hair within a week to your wedding as you never know how the color could oxidize or how it will look on your skin tone.

2. Drastic Haircuts. When getting your hair chopped, keep in mind how it may look with your dress or accessories. Also you may not like how the end results come out and by that time it may be too late to do anything.

3. New Workout. Stick the routine you've been doing, now is not the time for new moves. Pulled muscles can take weeks to heal and you definitely don't want to be sore during your celebrations.

4. Tanning. Avoid tanning, both under the sun and in the spray tan booths. You wouldn't want to end up with a color that doesn't compliment your bridal look.

5. Peels & Microdermabrasion. Although they promise silky-smooth skin, it's a big no-no to have these treatments done too close to your wedding day. Schedule such appointments at least 2 weeks before to avoid any redness or bruising.

Floral Fridays - Fruitful Florals

Think outside the vase when it comes to floral arrangements and try mixing in non-traditional items like seasonal fruit!

The combination of flowers and fruit goes together like a horse and carriage. The smooth and solid surface of a fruit is the perfect contrast to dainty blooms and tender buds.

This option is great for the summer, as you can take advantage of the seasonal fruits like peaches, berries, and citrus. Pair them up with romantic flowers like peonies and roses for a unique and breathe taking bouquet.

DIY Ideas - Balloon Ceiling

Although balloons are usually associated with children's birthday parties, this upside down alternative is unique and can definitely give your next event a fun twist.

To achieve this trick, all you would need to do is add a marble to each balloon before inflating it with helium. The weight is what causes it to hang upside down, giving it your ceiling that great effect.

Whether your style is chic or whimsical, these bold balloons are a great way to set the mood at any ceremony.

Wedding Wednesday - Creative Guest Books

Guest books at weddings are a great way for the couple to keep a collection of well wishes that they can always look back on. Traditionally the guests write and sign a simple booklet with their favorite memories and kindest blessings, but we think the following unique ideas can be a lot more appealing for both the couple and their guests.

The Video Booth:
For a more interactive and fun alternative to the wedding guest book, set up a video booth corner where guests can record their wishes and memories of the newlyweds.

The Photo Booth:
Another option similar to the video booth, would be to have guests take snapshots in a photo booth area and place the strips of pictures into a guest book.

The Type Writer:
Using an antique type writer to allow guests to write well wishes can add a vintage touch to your wedding. This option is quirky and cute, perfect for the playful couples.

The Quilted Guest Book:
Have your loved ones pen their wishes onto sqaures of fabric which you can later stitch together for a keepsake quilt. This is a very sweet way to bring the memory and sweet words of your loved ones into your home!

The Flower Bomb:
A large floral ball can serve both as a visual accent and a guest book. Guests can pin small papers with their wishes and memories onto ball.
