The word “Fanous” means ‘light’ or ‘lantern’. The
ancient Fanous is a prominent symbol in the middle east and becomes especially
popular during Ramadan. Traditionally the Fanous contains a lit up candle, but
we love this floral alternative!
It’s the perfect decorative piece for all
iftar and Eid gatherings this season and is very simple to make. All you would
need is a large enough lantern and a floral arrangement which you can fit into
it… et voila!
